Grand Canyon Wedding Adventure - Part II

Meet Kyle and Heather, I had the opportunity to hang out with them and explore a couple different locations for their engagement pictures. It was hot and it was windy. Such troopers as they always stayed postive and were perfect behind the lens. I love when the chemistry is already there because these two can kiss and they can do it WELL! You will find Kyle always opening Heather's door as he reads the backs of nutrition labels to ensure what he is buying is safe for her to eat in her gluten free lifestyle. Meet Alexis and Lance. They tied the knot at the fabulous TPC Summerlin here in Las Vegas. It actually turns out I know lance from way back! Pretty neat, I love running into people later in life to find them happy as can be! He has been doing some work in Qatar so why not get married before he leaves the country? Sounds like a good idea to me! When I first met Alexis I could tell that we were going to get along great, she is easy going and so fun! The day wouldn't have been without a little hiccup when after the first look, Lance's finger began bleeding and we began searching for a way to stop it. I mean we are talking about a lot of white fabric and a blood stain would not have gone down well. Alexis and Lance handled it like champs even though he was bleeding through the band-aids during photo time. Would have given anything for some crazy glue in my bag. That would have stopped the bleeding! Looks like I will be adding crazy glue to my photographer first aid kit. Some of my most treasured pictures are the ones where we aren't dressed up and my kids have stained shirts and messy hair. You can't plan moments like these. I am all about being in the moment at that exact place and time. It can't be re-created and frankly, I wouldn't want to. I love the spontaneity of it all. Don't mind the laundry hanging in the background or the stuff on the counters. The bathroom isn't the ideal place for pictures either. Perfectly imperfect place for a photoshoot if you ask me! I have been piecing this together and working on my packaging for some time now. It is amazing how much effort and thought goes into every little part. I am no where near done but here is where I am headed for now. This doesn't even show my bags and envelopes used in the packaging. Different orders require different packaging so there are alot of options. I am still working on each individual project including better cd copyright release forms, disc and print care, referral programs and other things like gift cards. Hope you like where I am going....isn't this photo box just so perfect?

I absolutley adore Kristi and Bo. It makes the wedding day flow really well when you spend time getting to know each other before the wedding date. Had fun out at the dry lake bed today with the beautiful and talented Kristi! Meet Jill....she is what can I say?......the calmest and easy going bride EVER!!! We set out to do her bridals and the wind was gusting away at 30mph. Now, typically I would re-schedule in this kind of weather but when a bride shows up all dressed up and even has a fabulous bouquet made for the occasion, there isn't much that can get in my way. We jumped from spot to spot trying to find "less windy" areas and even with a few hair piece fly aways and crazy gusts of wind Jill was just happy to be there. Check out this beautiful bride and start drooling, but be careful I wouldn't want the wind to blow it back onto your face ;)

We set up the kids trampoline they got for Christmas and they had so much fun playing! There was a lot of jumping and bouncing going on so keeping the images in focus was a challenge for me….good practice though :) Why post these pictures you ask? Well, they are not the most perfectly composed pictures I have ever taken, but they are my kids. The other one was taking a nap…so maybe you can see him next time. These guys are the ones that got me started in taking pictures and I love being able to have these fun memories to look back on, even if their faces are a little dirty, their clothes are a mess or there is a hole in his jeans.

I love a well planned surprise party, but Anna’s 30th birthday bash really rocked! First off, the whole gymnasium was packed, I don’t think I could have gotten this many people at my funeral let alone my birthday :) .…hahaha There were so many delectable sweets all over the room. She had no idea about the party and was completely surprised when she walked through the doors. Priceless! I love the picture of her mom hugging her below in black & white….my fav! I was lucky enough to be invited into the room for some sweet baby time. My big sis had a set of boy and girl twins!!! Hooray! What I would give to be able to get a two for the price of one pregnancy…..can we say jealous?!? Pregnancy is not my favorite part of the birthing experience. Baby boy weighed 7lb 12 oz and baby girl weighed 6lb 14 oz….yeah that’s right, my big sis carried the equivalent of a 14 1/2 lb baby! The best part is that she looks great because she is so beautiful and she didn’t even have any makeup on. Enjoy the pictures of the two newest 2010 tax deductions! Love you guys!

Ok Ok personal post time. My awesome older sister (who looks younger than me by the way :) is pregnant with twins! That’s right TWINS!! The best part is that one is a girl and one is a little boy! So me and my sister in law had an fun time throwing a shower in both colors blue and pink! With great food and even greater people, we partied it up on a beautiful November evening. We were in such a hurry at the end that I was barely able to snap off a few pictures. Oh how sweet it is to turn sixteen! This party was amazing, Garrett turned 16 and had a cocktail attired party to celebrate! There was so much yummy food, Yogurtland, dancing and a “underage approved” bar with all sorts of drinks. A big shout out to Limelight Events for making it all happen! Oh and there was this amazing G shaped cake with a million candles on it. Check below to see him blow all them out! Garrett was even given a moving birthday gift only to open it and find a hamster inside! The DJ had great music and kept the kids dancing all the way up to their curfews :)
